The Big English Hypocrisy surrounding John Terry

| November 8, 2011 | 0 Comments

Rio Ferdinand's recent poor form saw him missing from the latest England call-up, which also means we avoid seeing a potentially awkward partnership between him and John Terry in the England defence for the upcoming friendlies against Spain and Sweden. But, wait a minute, why is John Terry even called up in the first place after his alleged racism row with Anton Ferdinand?

The English FA is "still investigating" the incident. Oh wait, they have not even finished their investigation for Suarez-Evra. And the English FA has given Capello the full authority of deciding whether to name Terry in the squad. And Capello, who is Italian by the way, claims John Terry should be considered innocent until proven guilty.

Just this week, Lord Herman Ouseley, the  respected anti-racist campaigner in English football, says he is considering whether to quit the FA Council depending on the outcome of the FA's investigation into the Terry-Ferdinand incident. This could perhaps be the clearest sign as yet that John Terry might once again get away with a "Not Guilty" verdict.
