Haras El-Hodood have clinched the third and final promotion spot to the Egyptian Premier League after topping the playoff group.
This sees El-Hodood returning back to the top tier at the first time of asking, having suffered relegation in the 2022/23 season.
El-Hodood had to battle with Alexandria’s Sporting, Tersana, and Suez for the final promotion spot after Ghazl El-Mahalla and Petrojet.
After five matchdays, El-Hodood found themselves top of the promotion with 10 points, two ahead of Suez as the two teams faced each other on the final day.
A header from Galal El-Sharkawy on the brink of half-time gave El-Hodood the lead, before Tarek Sayed equalised for Sporting in the 64th minute to give his side hope.
However, as Sporting were looking to score a late goal that would seal them promotion, El-Hodood killed off the tie with a winner in the 96th minute through Mahmoud Mamdouh.
The win means Haras El-Hodood will play in the Egyptian Premier League for the 18th time in the club history, having finished third during the 2004/05 season.
The team is also mostly famous for winning two Egyptian Cups in 2009 and 2010 as they also have one Egypt Super Cup to their name.
