Mohamed Dhaoui Cristo has joined CS Sfaxien from Al Ahly on loan with an option to buy, the Tunisian club has announced.
Cristo had joined Al Ahly in January 2023 from Etoile Sportive du Sahel but struggled for game time in Cairo under Marcel Koller.
The 21-year-old was initially signed as a prospect but an abundance of established wingers at Al Ahly contributed to a limited number of appearances.
With only 10 games under his belt, the Red Devils have decided to send him on loan to CS Sfaxien until the end of the season, with the Tunisian club having an option to make the deal permanent for $1 million.
Cristo was initially set to join Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca, but he opted to return back to his home country instead.
CS Sfaxien finished third in the Tunisian league last season and will participate in the CAF Confederation Cup next year.
Hoping to win their first league title since 2013, the club has appointed Portuguese boss Alexandre Santos and already made five signings this summer, including Pedro Sá from CF Estrela.
As for Al Ahly, a potential departure opens a spot in their quota for foreign players as the African champions plan to bring in more experienced players for the new campaign.
