Chibi banned for three games as EFA announce sanctions for Al Ahly-Pyramids clash

The Egyptian Clubs Association issued sanctions for the events surrounding Pyramids and Al Ahly clash in the 31st round of the Egyptian League.

Al Ahly defeated Pyramids, thanks to Wissam Abo Ali’s winner to take a huge step towards retaining the Egyptian Premier League title.

The match witnessed some unwanted events including the sending off of Pyramids defender Mohamed Chibi and Al Ahly defender Khaled Abdel-Fattah.

Sanctions were as follows:

  • Suspension of Mohamed Shibi for three games and 50 thousand EGP fine due to his sending off for violent play, attempting to assault an opponent after being sent off, and not complying with the sending-off decision disrupting the match.
  • A 50 thousand EGP fine on Al Ahly due to collective insults by fans.
  • Ban of 75 fans from attendance for two games.
  • A 25 thousand EGP fine on Pyramids due to the collective objection to the refereeā€™s decisions by the technical and administrative staff.
  • Suspension of Khaled Abdel-Fattah for one game due to his sending off after two yellow cards.
  • Referring the complaints submitted by Pyramids and Al Ahly to the Disciplinary Committee of the Egyptian Football Association.

Al Ahly reduced the gap with Pyramids to two points after the game; however, the Reds still have three games in hand.

In Other disciplinary news, El-Gaish player Omar El-Saeed was also suspended for one match after being sent off against Pharco.

Also, Ismaily player Abdel Karim Mustafa and El Gouna player Abdel Gawad Mohamed were suspended for one match due to being sent off.
