Ibrahim Adel eyes Olympic medal after historic Spain win

Man of the match Ibrahim Adel has insisted the Pharaohs are eyeing a medal in Paris following the historic win over Spain.

Egypt has beat Spain 2-1 to qualify for the quarter-finals of the Paris Olympics as group C winners ahead of the European side, the Dominican Republic, and Uzbekistan.

Speaking after the game, Adel said: “We have not achieved anything yet. We are Egypt and we have the ability to do more.

“We are optimistic about winning a medal. All the team did their best in the game against Spain and I would not have scored without my teammates’ help.

The Winger finished by thanking the Egyptian fans for their backing and promised to do their best to achieve the dream of winning a medal.

The Egyptian Olympic team plays next in the quarterfinals of the men’s competition in the 2024 Paris Olympics against the second of Group D. The next opponent will be one of Mali, Paraguay, or Israel.
