Zamalek target Issahaku Yakubu renews his contract with Bank Al Ahly

Bank Al Ahly have extended the contract of Ghanaian full-back Issahaku Yakubu to put an end to the Zamalek speculation.

Yakubu had emerged as a target for Zamalek, who are keen on reinforcing the left-back area, following the constant injuries of Ahmed Fetouh.

However, it looks like Zamalek will have to shift their focus elsewhere as Yakubu’s stay at Bank Al Ahly has now been extended for the upcoming two seasons.

Yakubu been plying his trade in Egypt since January 2019, first arriving through Wadi Degla, before moving to Bank Al Ahly in the summer of 2021.

He established himself as one of the best full-backs in Egypt, making 100 appearances for Bank Al Ahly, scoring twice and assisting 15 times. His contract was set to expire by the end of the current season.

Bank Al Ahly are looking to build on their current season as they have firmly established themselves as a mid-table team in the Egyptian Premier League. They would be looking to take the next step in the next season.
