Qatari side Al-Arabi enter race for Zamalek's Ahmed Sayed Zizo

The battle for Ahmed Sayed Zizo is heating up as Qatari side Al-Arabi joined the pursuit of the Zamalek star.

Just this weekend, it was revealed that Saudi club NEOM SC have submitted an official bid to Zamalek for the services of Ahmed Sayed Zizo following an impressive showing in the Paris Olympics.

48 hours later, Qatari side Al-Arabi have entered the race to bring in Zizo after a slow start to the season which saw them draw their opening league game.

Al-Arabi have some big names in their squad like former Italy midfielder and Euro winner Marco Veratti, former PSG defender Abdou Diallo, Syrian icon Omar Al-Somah, and Tunisian winger Youssef Msakni.

This summer the club has also signed former Marseille, Lille, and Sunderland winger Isaac Lihadji.

However, it remains to be seen whether Zizo will decide to stay and renew his contract with Zamalek or opt for a lucrative Gulf adventure.

Zamalek Spokesperson Ahmed Salem revealed that the club is still waiting for the player’s return from the Olympics to discuss a new contract, while also revealing Zizo could be up for sale if a suitable offer comes to the club.

Zamalek are trying to build their squad for next season as they hope to mount a challenge for the Egyptian Premier League and the CAF Confederations Cup titles.
