Egypt’s defender Mohamed Abdelmonem has obtained his French visa and will reportedly arrive in France in the upcoming hours.
French club OGC Nice had reached a full agreement with Al Ahly to sign Egypt defender Mohamed Abdelmonem for a reported fee of €4 million plus an additional €1 million in bonuses.
The fee will be paid in two installments, with a 10% future sell-on fee to be added as well.
Abdelmonem has also agreed terms to sign a four-year contract with Nice that will run until June 2028 as he will replace Jean Clair Todibo, who left to join West Ham.
French publication Nice-matin has now revealed that Abdelmonem has finally obtained his French visa after several complications and his arrival should be made official in the next few hours.
Nice finished last season fifth in Ligue 1 and secured Europa League football for this season; however, they had a slow start to the new campaign with a 2-1 late defeat to newly promoted Auxerre.
This now means that Abdelmonem will be available for the club’s next game against Angers after a poor start to Nice’s season that saw them collect just one point from their opening two games.
