Report: Wolves, Rangers & Leicester among five teams to make offer for Egypt star

Five European clubs have reportedly made offers for Egypt international Ibrahim Adel in the final days of the summer transfer window.

Adel had an impressive Paris Olympics campaign, scoring three goals to help Egypt finish fourth and earned himself a place in the Team of the Tournament.

He had also claimed the 2023 U-23 Africa Cup of Nations Best Player award ahead of Barcelona’s Abde Ezzalzouli, which linked him with several European clubs.

Earlier today it was revealed that Scottish giants Rangers are said to be keen on bringing the 23-year-old to the Ibrox Stadium, according to the Daily Record.

The report also added that newly promoted Premier League sides Ipswich Town and Leicester City are also considering a move as Pyramids put a £5 million price tag on their star player.

Egyptian publication Yallakora has indeed confirmed the news; however, disclosed two additional teams that are interested in Adel, namely Wolverhampton Wanderers and La Liga side Girona.

“Several clubs are indeed negotiating with Pyramids to sign Ibrahim Adel,” an unnamed source inside Pyramids FC told the news outlet.

“The offers for Ibrahim Adel are coming from Rangers, Ipswich Town, Leicester City, Girona, and Wolverhampton.”

Ipswich Town is led by Egyptian skipper Sam Morsy, which could motivate Adel to join the Tractor Boys, who are playing in the Premier League for the first time since 2002.

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton have been linked with two other Egyptians this summer, firstly Fenerbahçe’s Omar Fayed, and Mostafa Mohamed of FC Nantes.

For Rangers, this marks the second time that the club is being linked with a move for Adel after reportedly failing with a deadline-day move last summer as the deal could not be agreed in time.
