REPORT: Saudi club officials in Egypt to negotiate Percy Tau deal

Saudi club NEOM have reportedly identified Al Ahly’s Percy Tau as a transfer target as they push for a late deal ahead of the deadline.

The Saudi Arabian summer transfer closes on Monday, September 2, allowing the clubs to be able to sign more players for the upcoming two days.

One of these players’ names is Percy Tau, who NEOM reportedly wants to sign after having their deal for Zamalek’s Ahmed Sayed Zizo fall through.

According to media personnel Omar Rabie Yassin, officials from the Saudi club have arrived in Cairo to negotiate a deal with Al Ahly over Percy Tau.

The Reds’ head coach Marcel Koller has made it clear that he doesn’t need Percy Tau anymore in his squad after a reported fall-out between both parties.

Tau has one year left on his current contract with Al Ahly and refuses to leave by mutual consent this summer without taking the rest of his remaining salary.

South African giants Kaizer Chiefs are long-term admirers of Percy Tau and it’s believed they have already started talks with the forward over a potential summer move.

However, Kaizer Chiefs will have to battle Wydad Casablanca, whose manager Rhulani Mokwena is reportedly doing his utmost to bring Tau to Morocco.
