World Cup winner Nabil Fekir has completed a move to Emirati club Al Jazira to play alongside Egypt international Mohamed Elneny.
The deal has cost Al Jazira €5m paid to Real Betis, where Fekir played the previous five season, having joined Lyon for almost €20m.
Fekir becomes the club’s fourth major summer signing after Mohamed Atiq, Brazilian left-back Vitor Vargas, and Mohamed Elneny as the club wants to build on their eighth-place finish last season.
The club is coached by Moroccan manager Hussein Ammouta and has several well-known players, including ex-Man City and Netherlands defender Karim Rekik and 2020 MLS MVP Alejandro Pozuelo.
Ex-Brazil international Fernando is also part of the squad as well as former Fulham players Neeskens Kebano and Aboubakar Kamara.
Al Jazira started the season with a 3-1 win in the League Cup against Al Bataeh; hwever, they lost their first league game against Baniyas 2-0.
