Egyptian club Modern Future have announced 15 summer signings at once, including a former Arsenal youngster.
Modern Future finished last season in fifth place with 54 points and were on the verge of securing a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.
The club has been a mainstay of the top five in the league since their promotion, having also won the inaugurate version of the Egyptian League Cup.
Hoping to maintain their status among the top teams, Modern Future has completed 15 signings, which they have all announced at once on Friday.
The 15 players include 11 Egyptians and four foreign names, most notably former England C striker Fejiri Okenabirhie from League One outfit Cambridge Utd on a free transfer.
Okenabirhie began his career in the Arsenal academy, before leaving in 2012 to play for Stevenage, Shrewsbury, Doncaster Rovers, and most recently Cambridge.
He has 140 League One appearances to his name in which he scored 30 goals, in addition to six goals in the English FA Cup, and three more in the EFL Cup.
Last season, Okenabirhie made 26 appearances for Cambridge, scoring nine goals and two assists as the team finished 18th in League One.
Burundi international, formerly of Anderlecht and Roda JC, Mohamed Amissi has also joined Modern Future from recently relegated Baladiyat El Mahalla.
Completing the foreign players are Zambian striker Enock Sakala, who joined from ZESCO United, and Ghana U-20 captain Frederick Kesse from Accra Lions.
The Egyptian players include Ismaily’s Mohamed Dessouki, El-Hedood keeper Karim Emad, and Zamalek-linked El-Dakhelya keeper Mohamed Magdy.
Former Gent midfielder, who played last season for Saudi club Al-Okhdood, Ahmed Mostafa was also among the signings as well as Wadi Degla’s Nader Hesham, Sporting’s Tarek Mohamed, Abdelrahman Ossama from Entag El-Harby, El-Suez’s Mohamed Mosaad, Mohamed Sabry from Proxy, and Abdallah Hafez, who spent last four seasons playing in Poland.
