Al Masry have reached an agreement to sign 20-year-old Benin midfielder Samadou Attidjikou from Bani Gansè FC.
Attidjikou was part of Benin’s squad in the latest round of AFCON qualifiers but did not feature in either of their two matches. He is expected to arrive in Egypt in the coming days to undergo his medical and finalize his contract.
Considered one of the brightest talents in Benin football, Attidjikou spent a trial period with French club Montpellier at the end of last season, gaining valuable experience.
He has been part of the national team setup and also featured in the U20 AFCON, where Benin reached the quarterfinals.
Al Masry finished last season in fourth place, securing a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup, and also reached the semifinals of the Egyptian Cup.
The Port Said-based club has already strengthened its squad by signing Khaled El Ghandour, Mohamed Makhlouf, Mahmoud Hamdy, Karim Bambo, and Mohamed Hesham.
Al Masry will kick off their campaign on September 15, 2024, against Libyan club Hilal Benhgazi.
