Police FC chairman calls Zamalek 'lucky' ahead of Confederation Cup tie

Police FC chairman Nyale Munga has described Zamalek as “lucky” following their 1-0 loss in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup tie.

Zamalek secured a 1-0 victory in Nairobi, and the return leg will take place in Cairo on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 8 PM CET.

Speaking to the media, Munga confidently stated: “When we beat this team on Friday in Cairo, we will be the champions of the Confederation Cup in Africa. No team will match us.”

“It was just a game of football. They were fortunate to win, but come Friday, we will secure the victory.”

Munga also praised his team’s second-half performance, saying: “We started slowly but picked up, especially after the substitutions. The way we played in the second half is how we will start in Cairo. We will give them a real challenge.”

Proud of his team’s efforts, Munga concluded: “I told the boys I’m happy with their performance. We could have scored at least two goals but were unlucky.”
