Saudi giants Al Nassr part ways with Konan

Saudi giants Al Nassr has reached an agreement with Ghislain Konan to terminate his contract by mutual consent.

The Ivorian left-back, who had one year remaining on his contract with the club, set to expire in July next year, will receive $2.5 million as compensation.

The 28-year-old joined Al-Nassr in July 2022 from French club Stade Reims on a free transfer, having also spent last season out on loan at Saudi club Al-Fayha.

During his time at Al-Nassr, Konan made 37 appearances in which he assisted five, before making a further 31 appearances for Al-Fayha.

Additionally, six Saudi players—Hamad Al Mansour, Mansour Al Shammari, Mohannad Barrah, Sultan Al Anzi, Waleed Saber, and Fahad Al Taleb—have been advised to seek new opportunities.

The Saudi side is working to part ways with these players to meet the Saudi Football Federation’s requirements, which mandate that clubs have a roster of 25 players.

Currently, Al Nassr is fifth in the league standings with four points, having drawn against Al Raed and secured a victory over Al-Fayha.
