The EFA officially announced the appointment of Amin Omar as the head referee for the Egyptian Super Cup final between Al Ahly and Zamalek.

According to an official statement from the Egyptian Football Association, Amin Omar will be supported by assistant referees Mahmoud Abou El Regal and Ahmed Hossam in addition to Ahmed El Ghandour, who will serve as the fourth official.

The statement also announced that Mohamed Maarouf and Mahmoud Ashour will oversee the VAR.

Zamalek reached the final with a penalty shootout win (5-4) over Pyramids FC following a 1-1 draw, and Al Ahly secured their spot after a 2-1 victory over Ceramica Cleopatra in the semi-finals.

The clash between the Cairo giants comes just a little under a month after they faced each other in the CAF Super Cup, a match that ended with Zamalek claiming the victory in a penalty shootout.

Al Ahly is the record holder for the Egyptian Super Cup title, having won it 14 times. They will be looking to add one more to their tally to make up for last month’s loss. Zamalek follows in second place with four titles.

The match is set to take place on Thursday, October 24th, at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in the UAE.
