Former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has openly expressed his reservations about Real Madrid center-back Sergio Ramos.
Speaking on Toni Kroos and his brother Felix’s Einfach mal Luppen podcast, Klopp said: “Is Mr. Sergio Ramos really a good guy? He’s not my favorite player. The action was brutal. Of course, he can’t know that it’s bothering his shoulder, but we all know that he accepted it very happily.”
The German manager added, “I could never understand that mentality, I never had players like that and, when I did, I made sure they left.”
Klopp’s comments refer to Ramos’ controversial challenge on Mohamed Salah during the 2018 Champions League final, which resulted in Salah dislocating his shoulder.
Salah left the pitch in tears early in the first half, an injury that also sidelined him for Egypt’s opening match in the 2018 World Cup. Real Madrid went on to win the final 3-1.
