Agent Omar Nagy revealed that Zamalek rejected the possibility of including Syrian striker Omar Al Somah in the proposed transfer of Zizo to Qatari club Al Arabi.
Ahmed Sayed Zizo was close to joining Qatari club Al Arabi last summer, but the winger ended up staying in Mit Okba despite several Gulf offers.
In an interview with MBC Masr 2, Nagy explained: “Al Arabi appointed me to negotiate Zizo’s transfer on their behalf, but Zamalek’s demands were excessive.
“No club will pay eight million dollars for Zizo when they can sign him as a free agent in less than a year.
“Al Arabi initially submitted an offer to Zamalek, which was declined. They then made an improved bid, but that was also rejected. When the club saw the deal was dragging, they moved on to another foreign player and closed that deal within three days.
“We proposed adding Omar Al Somah to the deal, but Zamalek rejected the idea, even though the Syrian striker was interested in joining Zamalek.”
Al Somah, 35, is considered one of the most prolific Arab goalscorers in recent years, scoring 144 goals in 180 Saudi Pro League appearances during his time at Al Ahli.
