Saudi champions Al Hilal is reportedly contemplating terminating the contract of Brazilian star Neymar following his latest injury setback.

Neymar sustained a hamstring tear during Al Hilal’s recent AFC Champions League match against Iranian club Esteghlal, just two games after returning from an ACL injury. The Saudi club announced that he will be sidelined for four to six weeks due to the injury.

According to the Saudi show Action Ma’ Waleed, Al Hilal’s management is seriously considering a January exit for Neymar. The club is open to the possibility of terminating his contract.

Since joining Al Hilal, Neymar has made only seven appearances. It seems this latest injury setback may be the tipping point for the club’s management, who appear ready to cut their losses

Should Al Hilal proceed with terminating the Brazilian’s contract, it would free up a slot in their foreign player quota, potentially opening the door for another high-profile signing, such as Mohamed Salah, who the club is reportedly eyeing ahead of the Club World Cup.
