Saudi giants Ittihad Jeddah are set to terminate the contract of Italian defender Luiz Felipe.
Felipe joined the Tigers in September 2023 from Real Betis for a reported fee of €22 million, but struggled consistently with injuries, making just 28 appearances.
This season, Felipe started Ittihad’s opening game against Al-Kholood but was forced off with a hamstring injury after just 20 minutes, which kept him sidelined since then.
Due to his long-term injury, Ittihad lifted his name from the Saudi Pro League squad, which led the player’s agent to request the termination of the contract.
According to Arriyadiyah, the negotiations between Ittihad’s management and Luiz Felipe are progressing toward a mutual agreement to terminate his contract through a financial settlement as both parties are keen to part ways amicably without involving FIFA.
Ittihad currently sit second in the Saudi Pro League with 27 points, just one point behind league leaders Al-Hilal.
