Zamalek has filed a police report against Al Ahly forward Mahmoud ‘Kahraba’ over a bounced cheque.
The club attempted to cash a six million EGP cheque, the final installment of a fine owed by the player, only to discover that the cheque had bounced, prompting legal action.
Kahraba was originally fined $2 million after leaving Zamalek to join Portuguese club Deportivo Aves, despite being under contract until 2023. His departure led to a suspension until the fine was fully paid.
While Kahraba has settled most of the penalty, this final payment appears to be outstanding.
Kaharaba had represented Zamalek between 2015 to 2019, but spent two seasons out on loan at Ittihad Jeddah, before leaving the club for Portugal’s CD Aves.
The Egypt international remained just six months in Portugal, before making a move to Cairo giants Al Ahly in January 2020, where he has been plying his trade until now.
