Emam Ashour settles dispute with security guard

Al Ahly and Egypt midfielder Emam Ashour has resolved his dispute with the security guard following a six-month prison sentence.

The 26-year-old was accused of assaulting a security guard at a shopping mall in Sheikh Zayed City.

In front of the public prosecution, Emam claims that the guard harassed his wife, who also stated that several people had harassed her.

In his testimony, Emam also said that the security guard fell to the ground and that he did not physically assault him; however, on the other side, the victim accused Ashour of causing his injury.

Although Ashour was initially acquitted by the Court of First Instance, the public prosecution appealed, resulting in the Appeals Court issuing a six-month prison sentence.

However, the Al Ahly midfielder now won’t need to spend any time behind bars after meeting with the security guard and reaching a settlement, which included financial compensation. This resolution is expected to result in the case being closed.
