The EFA has closed its candidacy submission window for the upcoming elections, confirming that Hany Abo Rida’s list is the only submission.
The Egyptian Football Association has declared that Hany Abo Rida is the sole candidate for its upcoming elections. With no opposing candidates, Abo Rida and his proposed board are poised to govern the EFA for the next four years unchallenged.

Hany Abo Rida has also proposed some of his the initiatives he plans to implement as part of his and the board’s strategic vision for the future of the EFA.
Anticipated initiatives include but are not limited to:
- Disbanding the 2010 Youth National Team: Plans include dissolving the U-14 national team, currently managed by Wael Riyad.
- Executive Director Appointment: Ehab Lehita is expected to be reappointed as the EFA’s executive director, a position he previously held under Abo Rida. The current executive director, Walid Al-Attar, would return to his former role as Director of Player Affairs.
- Restructuring the Technical Directorate: The position of EFA technical director, currently held by Alaa Nabil, may be abolished. A new technical committee, would oversee all technical matters related to the EFA and national teams across all age groups.
The EFA elections are scheduled for December 10, 2024, where Hany Abo Rida is expected to be officially confirmed as president along with his board.
