Al Ahly goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir expressed his pride after making his debut for the Egyptian National Team against Botswana.
Speaking to BeIN Sports, Mostafa Shobeir said: “Thank God. I’m happy with my first game for the National Team and proud to represent Egypt. The circumstances weren’t ideal, maybe because we had already qualified and many players were making their debuts.”
He added, “Many players are waiting for their chance to play for the National Team. We hope to see the next generation competing in many tournaments. Every team in the Egyptian Premier League has talented players, and these players will dominate in the coming years.”
Shobeir also shared his thoughts on his recent CAF Awards nominations, “I’m proud to be in contention for the Interclub Player of the Year and African Goalkeeper of the Year awards. God willing, both trophies will be Egyptian.”
