VIDEO: Egypt U17 mounts dramatic comeback to beat Tunisia

The Egyptian U17 National Team staged a dramatic comeback to secure a 3-2 victory over Tunisia in the U17 North African Championship.

Tunisia opened the scoring early through Anisse Saidi in the 4th minute. However, Egypt quickly equalized in the 17th minute thanks to Belal Ateya. Just three minutes later, Saidi struck again to restore Tunisia’s lead, making it 2-1.

The game remained in Tunisia’s favor until the final 10 minutes, when substitute Abdelaziz Elzoghaby became Egypt’s hero. Elzoghaby scored twice, in the 81st and 86th minutes, completing a thrilling comeback for the young Pharaohs.

This victory marked Egypt’s second win in the tournament, bringing their tally to six points from three games. They currently sit in third place, level on points with Tunisia, who have completed their matches.

Egypt’s final game will be against Libya, and a draw will be enough for the young Pharaohs to qualify for the U17 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The North African Championship, held in Morocco, serves as the qualification tournament for the U17 AFCON, with the top two teams advancing.

Egypt will aim to secure their spot in the continental competition, building on the momentum of their dramatic victory over Tunisia.
