Salah

Harvey Elliott has made a plea to Mo Salah, urging the Egyptian to remain at Liverpool amid uncertainty surrounding his contract situation.

Salah’s future at Anfield remains in doubt after he admitted that negotiations over a new deal are “still far away” from reaching a point of agreement. With his current contract set to expire this summer, Salah will be free to negotiate with clubs outside the English Premier League starting Wednesday.

Despite the ongoing speculation, Salah delivered another masterclass in Liverpool’s dominant 5-0 win over West Ham, scoring once and providing two assists to keep Arne Slot’s side at the top of the Premier League table.

Harvey Elliott, who came on as a substitute in the second half, was full of praise for his teammate’s brilliance both on and off the pitch, “Mo’s just Mo. He finds a new level each and every season. When everyone’s trying to write him off he comes back and shows the world what he can do.”

Elliott continued, “Us players who play around him, we see every day in training how hard he works. For me he’s one of the best players in the world, if not the best at this moment in time. We just hope we can keep him around for a little bit longer and he keeps performing the way he is.”

The English midfielder concluded by saying, “I don’t have a clue how he does it. I think if we knew we’d all be the same. He’s just an amazing athlete, an amazing footballer and an amazing guy. It’s hard to put your finger on it. If we could, we’d all look like him. He must have his secrets.”

Mohamed Salah this season has once again proven his importance to Liverpool, and Harvey Elliott’s comments echo the sentiments of fans and teammates who are desperate to see the Egyptian continue his reign at Anfield.
