Manchester City have reportedly submitted their first official offer to sign Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush from Eintracht Frankfurt.
Omar Marmoush, who is under contract with Frankfurt until June 2027, has caught the attention of several top European clubs. However, the German side is reportedly open to parting ways with the player if a suitable financial offer is presented.
According to a recent report from Sky Sports, Manchester City officials have already held meetings with Marmoush’s representatives in recent weeks. The proposed deal includes a five-year contract starting July 1st, 2025. Despite Pep Guardiola’s immediate need for attacking reinforcements, a January transfer is considered highly unlikely.
In addition to Sky’s reports of formal offers, sources from Football Insider revealed that preliminary talks have already been held between Manchester City, Omar Marmoush, and his representatives. The Egyptian forward has been identified as a potential replacement for Julian Alvarez, who departed for Atletico Madrid during the off-season.
City are actively working on a deal for the forward, but Frankfurt remains reluctant to let him leave in January without securing a suitable replacement. The English champions would also need to pay a substantial transfer fee to finalize the deal.
Despite earlier reports suggesting that Liverpool would be his dream move, Marmoush is said to be keen on joining Manchester City. Eintracht Frankfurt is reportedly holding firm on a €60 million valuation for Marmoush, and they are unlikely to lower their asking price.
While other clubs are sure to be keeping an eye on the forward’s situation during the transfer window, it seems that his focus currently remains on a move to Manchester City.
Marmoush has been in exceptional form this season, his Bundesliga tally of 13 goals is just one short of Bayern Munich’s Harry Kane, justifying Manchester City’s interest in securing his services.
