Manchester City are set to formally approach Eintracht Frankfurt to sign Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Fabrizio Romano, a journalist who’s more right than wrong, has confirmed that the Premier League champions are now ready to begin negotiations for the versatile 25-year-old attacker, who has drawn comparisons to Julian Alvarez due to his ability to play both as a winger and a central striker.
Earlier reports have suggested that discussions have already started on the player’s side, with Marmoush understood to be keen on making the move to Manchester City. However, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that it seems the final decision now rests with Eintracht Frankfurt, who are yet to decide whether to sell their star forward in the current transfer window or retain him until the end of the season.
Omar Marmoush has been in exceptional form this season, scoring 18 goals and providing 12 assists across 24 appearances in all competitions. His performances both in the Bundesliga and the Europa League have made him one of the most sought-after talents in European football.
Manchester City are expected to escalate their efforts in the coming weeks as they aim to secure Marmoush’s signature to bolster their attacking options for the remainder of the campaign.
