Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney has picked Mohamed Salah as his Premier League Player of the Season.
In a feature for Amazon Prime Video Sport, Wayne Rooney has named his five best players in the Premier League this season so far. The England and Manchester United legend has chosen to put his career allegiances to the side by naming a Liverpool star as his Premier League player of the season
The Englishman’s ranking included Alexander Isak, Cole Palmer, Morgan Gibbs-White, and Bruno Fernandes but it was the Egyptian who stood out as the undisputed number one in his eyes.
Rooney placed Salah at the top of his five-man shortlist, “Over the last few years, his performances have been excellent and this season again, it looks like he’s going to spearhead Liverpool to the title.”
Salah has been in sensational form this season, closing in on the record for most goal contributions in a single Premier League campaign. With 27 goals and 18 assists so far, the Egyptian forward continues to lead both charts and play a central role in Liverpool’s title charge.
