Omar Marmoush has been crowned winner of the Premier League Goal of the Season for 2024/25, capping off a clean sweep for Egyptian players across the league’s major individual awards.

The Manchester City forward claimed the award for his breathtaking 30-yard strike against Bournemouth earlier this month, an effort that rocketed into the top corner to open the scoring in City’s 3–1 home win.

After receiving the ball from Mateo Kovačić just inside Bournemouth’s half, Marmoush carried it forward unchallenged before unleashing a shot past Kepa Arrizabalaga and in off the post, an instant fan favorite and runaway winner in the public and panel vote.

In doing so, Marmoush became the first ever Man City player to ever win the award, and only the second Egyptian to do so after Mohamed Salah in 2021/22.

But his win is just part of a remarkable Egyptian dominance of this season’s Premier League accolades:

  • Goal of the Season: Omar Marmoush
  • Player of the Season: Mohamed Salah
  • Premier League Golden Boot: Mohamed Salah (28)
  • Playmaker of the Year: Mohamed Salah (18)

Mohamed Salah, under Arne Slot led Liverpool to the league title with four games to spare, securing both the Golden Boot and Playmaker Award.

Marmoush, meanwhile, made an immediate impact after his £59 million move from Eintracht Frankfurt in January, registering 8 goals and 2 assists in 22 appearances across all competitions.

He now turns his attention to the FIFA Club World Cup this June in the United States.
