Zamalek claimed the 2024–25 Egypt Cup after a dramatic 8-7 victory on penalties over Pyramids FC, following a 1-1 draw across 120 minutes.

Ahmed Atef’s first-half header had given Pyramids the lead before substitute Nasser Mansi equalized in the 78th minute.

The final remained deadlocked through extra time, forcing a tense shootout in which veteran Mahmoud Abdelrazek Shikabala converted the decisive spot-kick.

The win secured Zamalek’s 29th Egypt Cup title and their first since 2021, denying Pyramids a second trophy this season. It also extended the White Knights’ perfect record against Pyramids in Egypt Cup finals, having previously defeated them 3-0 in the 2019 decider.

Pyramids missed three penalties through Mostafa Fathi, Ahmed Samy, and Ali Gabr, while Zamalek missed two, Mostafa Shalaby and Nasser Mansi.
