Liverpool have officially announced that Egyptian forward Kareem Ahmed has signed his first professional contract with the club.

The 18-year-old, who can operate both as a forward and an attacking midfielder, has been part of Liverpool’s Academy setup since the age of six.

Ahmed becomes the second Egyptian youth talent to sign a professional deal with the Reds this year, following in the footsteps of his Egyptian-English teammate Alvin Ayman, who joined from Wolverhampton Wanderers and penned his deal last January.

The youngster has been making waves in the youth ranks in Liverpool. In December 2022 and at just 15-years-old, Kareem Ahmed scored the winner on his U18 debut in an FA Youth Cup tie against AFC Bournemouth.

Since then, his stock has steadily risen. Last season, he scored seven goals and provided five assists for Liverpool’s U18s, while also making two appearances in the UEFA Youth League against Bologna and RB Leipzig.

According to the club’s official announcement, Kareem Ahmed is set to step up to the U21 squad for the 2025–26 campaign under newly appointed head coach Rob Page.
