Greek giants Olympiacos FC have signed 21-year-old Egyptian striker Bilal Mazhar, who will join the club’s B team.

While Olympiacos did not disclose contract details in their official announcement, the 21-year-old forward joins the Greek club with an initial expectation of integrating into the Olympiacos B team.

Bilal Mazhar first caught the attention of European clubs when he was coming up at Al Mokawloon’s youth system. Mazhar first moved abroad in 2020 to join Panathinaikos’ academy, where he was able to make a name for himself.

The youngster gained recognition in Europe during the 2022/23 UEFA Youth League by finishing as the tournament’s top scorer with nine goals in four games, earning him the Golden Boot award.

Despite his earlier success, his later experiences at the senior level were unfortunate. Bilal Mazhar had a brief spell with the Portuguese club Estrela Amadora, where he made only one appearance. He then returned to Greece for a short stint with PAS Lamia in the same season, during which he made 10 appearances in the Greek Super League. On the international stage, Mazhar featured for Egypt’s U-23 team at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Moving to Olympiacos marks a new chapter for the young forward as he seeks to regain his previous form with the Red & Whites.
