Hossam Hassan earned his place on the shortlist after guiding the Pharaohs to qualification for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking a resurgence under his leadership.

Tarek Sektioui, who led Morocco’s local-based squad to their third African Nations Championship (CHAN) title. Mohamed Ouahbi, who guided Morocco’s U-20 team to a landmark FIFA U-20 World Cup triumph.
Tunisia is represented by two managers. National team coach Sami Trabelsi and RS Berkane’s head coach Moïne Chaabani. Meanwhile Cape Verde’s Bubista was nominated after leading his country to a first-ever World Cup qualification.
Senegal’s Pape Thiaw and Madagascar’s Romuald Rakotondrabe, coach of their CHAN side, complete the list of contenders.
