Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has thrown his full support behind Mohamed Salah amid growing scrutiny over the Egyptian’s form.

Mohamed Salah has scored just three goals this season , only one from open play, and was benched for Liverpool’s 5–1 Champions League win over Eintracht Frankfurt, playing just the final 16 minutes. The 33-year-old is without a goal in his last six appearances.

Despite the drought, Arne Slot remains calm, insisting he has no doubts the forward will soon rediscover his scoring touch.

The last thing I worry about is Mo scoring goals again. That’s what he’s done his whole life, and that’s what I expect him to keep doing for our club.

The Dutchman acknowledged that Salah, like any player, is human, and goal droughts happen, even to the most reliable scorers.

He’s been in promising positions often enough. We’re just not used to him missing chances, especially not multiple in a row, but that can happen. He’s a human being.

The manager also pointed to the disruption in Liverpool’s right-hand side as a potential factor. Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure to Real Madrid in the summer removed one of Salah’s key providers, while injuries have forced Slot to rotate heavily at right-back, including fielding Dominik Szoboszlai in the role.

With Trent, maybe Mo got more of those early balls in transition. Now we’ve had Frimpong in and out, Conor Bradley injured, and even had to use Szoboszlai back there. It’s not ideal.

The club’s summer overhaul has also created growing pains. With several new signings still adjusting, and others like Alexis Mac Allister and Alexander Isak missing pre-season, Salah has struggled to build new on-pitch connections.

It takes time. Mo is no exception. Everyone needs to adapt when the structure around them changes.

Arne Slot and Salah will be hoping for a reset when Liverpool face Brentford away on Saturday evening, a match that could prove a turning point in the Egyptian’s stuttering campaign.
