Al Ahly forward Hamza Abdelkarim is reportedly in Barcelona as his move to Barça Atlètic is in its final stretch.

The agreement, as previously reported, is structured as a loan with a €1.5 million purchase option, alongside performance-related variables that could raise the total package to €5 million and a 15% sell-on clause tied to any future transfer.

Hamza Abdelkarim has been in the middle of weeks long negtotiations between Barcelona and Al Ahly. Spanish coverage this week described the move as “entering its final stages,” with only a handful of details left before it becomes official.

One key procedural point is that the youngster is expected to extend his Al Ahly contract before leaving, a step designed to protect the Egyptian club’s position if the purchase option is not activated.

On the Catalan club’s side, the remaining hurdle is administrative. Even for a reserve-team signing, La Liga’s Financial Fair Play framework affects salary mass and registration capacity. As a result, reports have linked the Egyptian’s registration to outgoing movement that would create the necessary margin.

If the paperwork is completed as expected, Hamza Abdelkarim will join Juliano Belletti’s Barcelona youth setup as soon as registration is cleared.
