Salah

San Diego FC owner Mohamed Mansour said the club would be open to signing Mohamed Salah this summer following his departure announcement.

Egyptian-British billionaire businessman and former politician, Mohamed Mansour, called Salah “a great player” and said he would be “an asset” to any team. Speaking to reporters, Mansour said San Diego FC must first decide whether Salah fits the club’s style of play.

Salah announced on Tuesday that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season. The 33-year-old joined the club in 2017 from Roma.

He leaves Liverpool with 255 goals in 435 appearances. He won two Premier League titles, the Champions League, and several other major trophies.

San Diego FC are one of the clubs now linked with him. Saudi side, Al Ittihad, are also reported to have revived their interest in signing the forward.

For now, Mansour’s position remains simple. He likes the player, but he wants the club’s staff to decide whether a deal makes football sense.
