Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard praised Mohamed Salah after the Liverpool forward was seen doing post-match warm-down work following the club’s 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final.

The Egyptian, who remained an unused substitute in Paris, took part in extra running and led warm-down exercises after full-time, with Gerrard praising his attitude and professionalism despite his omission from Arne Slot’s side.

Steven Gerrard viewed the response from Mo as a sign of commitment at a difficult moment for both the player and the club. Salah has already announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season after nine years at Anfield.

Liverpool now face the task of overturning the deficit in the second leg at Anfield next week.
