Former Al Ahly striker Wessam Abou Ali will miss the rest of the 2026 MLS season after suffering a torn ACL and meniscus damage in his right knee. The 27-year-old sustained the injury during Columbus’ 1-1 draw with Orlando City on Sunday.

Wessam Abou Ali had made a strong start to the season before the setback. Carrying his form with Al Ahly to the MLS, he led Columbus with five goals in seven matches and had recorded eight goals and two assists in 12 regular-season games since joining in July 2025.

The Palestinian striker said he would begin his recovery with surgery and vowed to return stronger. Columbus will now face a reshuffle in attack.
