Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan said Mohamed Salah suffered a muscle tear against Crystal Palace and could miss four weeks.

Egypt national team director Ibrahim Hassan said Mohamed Salah suffered a muscle tear during Liverpool’s 3-1 win over Crystal Palace and could be out for four weeks. Hassan made the comments after the forward left Saturday’s match at Anfield with what had earlier been described as a suspected hamstring injury.

Hassan revealed that Salah “has a muscle tear” and said the Liverpool winger “will be out for four weeks.”

He added that Egypt’s coaching staff were following the forward’s condition and will remain in constant contact with Liverpool. Ibrahim Hassan also said that the national team would wait for Liverpool’s medical tests and reports to determine the full extent of the injury.

Salah went off in the 60th minute as Liverpool beat Crystal Palace at Anfield. The 33-year-old, who is due to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, walked off applauding the crowd, raising concern that he may already have played his final match for the club.
