Egypt will play Russia in an international friendly on May 28 as the Pharaohs step up preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The match is set to take place at the New Administrative Capital Stadium.

Egypt and Russia agreed on the final organisational details before the Russian Football Union announced the match. Russia will also face Burkina Faso on June 5 and Trinidad and Tobago on June 9.

The last time the two teams faced each other was in the 2018 World Cup, which Russia hosted. That game ended in a 3-1 victory for Russia.

The match is part of the final build-up to the World Cup. It also comes before another friendly against Brazil in the United States in early June.
