Manchester City have permitted Omar Marmoush to undergo a medical with Tottenham Hotspur after the clubs agreed a loan.
Marmoush said goodbye to his City teammates before receiving clearance to complete the next stage of the transfer, David Ornstein reported.
Tottenham will initially sign the Egypt international on a season-long loan. The agreement obliges them to buy him for £50 million and includes a further £10 million in add-ons.
Half of those additional payments, worth £5 million, are guaranteed. The remaining £5 million will depend on performance-related conditions. The permanent agreement includes a four-year contract with an option for another season.
The Guardian also reported that the two clubs reached an agreement on the loan and subsequent permanent transfer.
KingFut reported on Sunday that Tottenham had reached an agreement to sign the 27-year-old on loan with a £50 million purchase obligation.
Spurs head coach Roberto De Zerbi subsequently refused to confirm the club’s pursuit, saying he would only discuss players already in his squad.
Marmoush is now set to become the second City attacker to join Tottenham this summer. Spurs completed the signing of Sávio, formerly known as Savinho, for a reported £75 million, with another £10 million potentially due in add-ons.
The Egyptian forward made 36 appearances last season, scoring eight goals and providing three assists. However, he started only eight Premier League matches as he competed for places in City’s attack.
