Tottenham Hotspur have signed Omar Marmoush from Manchester City on loan with an obligation to make the transfer permanent next summer.
Tottenham confirmed the agreement on Thursday after Marmoush completed his medical and the contractual formalities. The agreement guarantees Manchester City £50 million and includes a further £10 million in bonuses.
As KingFut previously reported, £5 million of those additional payments are guaranteed. The remaining £5 million depend on performance-related conditions. The permanent agreement is expected to include a four-year contract with an option for another season.
“It feels amazing to be here,” Marmoush said after completing the move. The 27-year-old said he was eager to begin training and meet the club’s supporters. He described Tottenham as one of England’s biggest clubs and said the project “was very attractive to me.”
Marmoush also revealed that he spoke to head coach Roberto De Zerbi before accepting the move.
“I loved what he had to say,” the forward added, expressing confidence that their shared passion for football would help them work together.
De Zerbi described Marmoush as an ambitious and determined player capable of improving Tottenham’s attack. The Italian highlighted his pace, intelligence, finishing ability and desire to develop.
Sporting director Johan Lange called the transfer a statement of Tottenham’s ambition. He said Marmoush had already demonstrated his ability to perform at the highest level.
Tottenham later confirmed that Marmoush will wear the number 22 shirt. Following his signature, the Egyptian becomes the second Manchester City attacker to move to North London this summer after Brazilian winger Sávio.
Marmoush leaves City after scoring 16 goals in 62 appearances across all competitions. He joined the club from Eintracht Frankfurt in January 2025 and scored a hat-trick against Newcastle United the following month.
The former Wadi Degla forward registered eight goals in 25 appearances during his first half-season in England. His long-range stunner against Bournemouth won the 2024-25 Premier League Goal of the Season award.
He scored another eight goals last season and helped Manchester City win the League Cup and FA Cup.
Marmoush began his professional career with Wadi Degla before moving to Wolfsburg in 2017. He later represented St Pauli, Stuttgart and Eintracht Frankfurt. He scored 37 goals and supplied 20 assists in 67 appearances for Frankfurt before joining City.
