
PSV Eindhoven have confirmed that Essam Abdelhamid, a 15-year-old midfielder with an Egyptian father and Polish mother.
The agreement extends Abdelhamid’s development at the Dutch club, whose academy he joined in 2023. PSV announced the signing on September 9.
Born to an Egyptian father and a Polish mother, Abdelhamid has already appeared for Poland at youth level. Most recently, he scored the only goal in their under-16 side’s friendly victory over Lithuania in Vilnius on August 29, striking in the 57th minute.
The Polish federation had previously confirmed that he made his first appearances in national colours during May’s Four Nations Tournament.
While Essam Abdelhamid is described by PSV as a midfielder in their contract announcement, the youngster has frequently featured at centre-back. He has also captained his age-group team in Eindhoven.
