Former goalkeeper turned pundit Ahmed Shobeir revealed that Nantes FC are yet to make a bid for Al Ahly’s Mohamed Abdelmonem.
News broke recently that Mostafa Mohamed’s Nantes were interested in signing Mohamed Abdelmonem from Al Ahly on a permanent deal.
French publication Homme Du Match revealed the French outfit are looking to recruit Abdelmonem next summer, taking advantage of the presence of his national teammate Mostafa Mohamed.
The report revealed that Real Betis and Sevilla have both set their eyes on Abdelmonem due to his affordable Transfermarkt value of €3 million.
However, Ahmed Shobeir refuted the rumours but believes that Al Ahly could still receive a bid for Abdelmonem in the next few weeks.
“I asked club officials about the reports that came out recently and they said that no offers were submitted so far,” Shobeir told SportFM.
“There is no offer from Spain or France for Abdelmonem. Maybe it’s just intermediaries talking to each other but nothing official yet.
“But that could change as we edge closer to the end of the season,” he added.
