The Egyptian Football Association have announced the relocation of the Winsunited Cup to Cairo instead of the UAE.
The Winsunited Cup will witness the participation of four teams, namely Egypt, Tunisia, Croatia, and New Zealand, and was supposed to take part in the UAE.
However, due to sponsorship issues, the tournament will now be played in Egypt after consulting with the participating national federations.
The tournament will proceed as previously planned without any changes, consisting of two semi-final matches, and the winners will play in the final to determine the champion, while the losers will play in a third-placed playoff.
Egypt will be up against New Zealand on March 22 in what will be Hossam Hassan’s first game in charge of the Pharaohs, while Tunisia will face Croatia.
The friendly cup will serve as preparation for Egypt and Tunisia ahead of resuming the World Cup qualifiers in June, while it will also be preparation for Croatia for the Euro 2024.
