Al Ahly have been handed a huge blow as Emam Ashour suffered a shoulder injury in Egypt’s victory over New Zealand.
Egypt earned a 1-0 win against New Zealand in their opening game of the Winsunited Cup on Friday, thanks to Mostafa Mohamed’s first-half penalty.
Emam Ashour, who earned the spot-kick for Egypt, appeared to have shoulder problems after being brought down inside the box.
It has now been confirmed that the Al Ahly ace suffered a dislocation and will undergo further scans to determine the extent of the injury.
The news comes as a blow to the Red Devils as Ashour could miss their crucial CAF Champions League encounter against Simba in the quarter-finals next week.
It’s worth noting that the 26-year-old had suffered a concussion during Egypt’s run in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations earlier this year.
