Al Ahly’s head coach Marcel Koller has insisted that his side will take nothing for granted when they host Simba in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals.
The Reds recorded a historic win in Dar es Salaam thanks to Ahmed Nabil Kouka’s early strike that saw them clinch a 1-0 victory.
In order to secure a spot in the semi-finals, Al Ahly now needs at least a draw or win by any margin to become the first team to advance to the next round.
Marcel Koller said ahead of the tie: “I expect the second leg against Simba to be very tough, just like the first leg was. We witnessed a closely contested match in the first encounter.
“Simba will do everything to win and overturn the result of the first leg, so we need to be focused and determined.
“We hope our fans will be present within the allowed capacity and we need their support throughout the match.
“We achieved a positive result in the first leg, which gives us confidence, but there’s a difference between confidence and arrogance, which we reject.
“I conveyed that message to the players in the dressing room immediately after the match in Tanzania.”
