Al Ahly’s Anthony Modeste believes in his side’s chances to overcome TP Mazembe in the CAF Champions League.
After defeating Tanzanian outfit Simba 3-0 on aggregate, Al Ahly advanced to the semi-finals and will now face TP Mazembe who qualified in dramatic fashion.
The Congolese side beat Petro Atletico de Luanda 2-1, thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Joel Beya two weeks ago.
Speaking ahead of the highly-anticipated tie, Modeste expressed confidence and revealed his side are ready for Mazembe on Saturday.
“We have a strong desire to win and the players know the importance of the game,” Modeste said via Al Ahly’s social media channels.
“Al Ahly fear no one but of course, we know the game will be difficult, but I am certain that we are ready for it physically and mentally.
“I hope that we play a good away game before the return leg, and as I said, we are ready to fight for the win and reach the final,” he added.
