The trial of Egyptian footballer Ahmed Fetouh has been reserved for judgment on November 16, 2024, after he settled with the family of the deceased.
Fetouh’s lawyer announced that the player agreed to a settlement of 10 million EGP with the victim’s family, leading to the dismissal of the wrongful death charges.
However, the player still faces charges related to drug use, with the court reserving judgment on this matter for the same date.
Fetouh had been referred to the Criminal Court on charges of involuntary manslaughter and driving under the influence of drugs after an incident on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road, in which he fatally struck a police officer with his vehicle.
Earlier in September, Ahmed Fetouh was released on bail, with his trial now scheduled for judgment on November 16. Following his release, Fetouh resumed training with Zamalek.
